Captain Ken Holland

Patrol Division

Captain Ken Holland has served with the Office of the Sheriff since July 1998. He began his career as a Patrol Deputy and has since served as a Shift Supervisor, Training Sergeant, and Patrol Lieutenant. He currently serves as the Captain of the Special Investigations Unit, Co-Captain of the Patrol Division, Captain of the School Resource Officer program, and the Supervisor for our Citizens on Patrol Volunteer Program. During his law enforcement career, Captain Holland has served as a General Instructor, Firearms Instructor, Active Attack Response Instructor, Bias Based Policing Instructor, and instrumental in various other disciplines. While working in the Patrol Division, he received the Mother’s Against Drunk Driving award four times and the interdepartmental Officer of the Year award as well. He is dedicated to providing services to the agency and community in de-escalation and active attack response. He is currently pursuing the Leadership Trilogy through the FBI-LEEDA program.

Captain Erik Mollin

Patrol Division

Captain Erik Mollin has served with the Office of the Sheriff since January 2013. He began his career with the Town of Rocky Mount Police Department in 1997 as a Patrol Officer. After rising through the ranks into an administrator role, he departed that agency at the rank of Captain. Captain Mollin currently serves as the Captain of the General Investigations Unit and Co-Captain of the Patrol Division. As part of his Law Enforcement career he has been an instructor in multiple disciplines and was instrumental in developing new Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services state training objectives for new Law Enforcement Officers.  He is dedicated to providing services to the community and also serves with the Virginia Law Enforcement Assistance Program (VALEAP) as a Law Enforcement Peer and Board Member.   In 2014, he was the recipient of the Valor award presented by the Virginia Sheriffs Association, in addition to receiving Department valor award and the lifesaving award.  He has successfully completed the Leadership Trilogy through the FBI-LEEDA program in 2022.

Captain Duane Amos

Corrections Division

Captain Duane Amos has served with the Office of the Sheriff since March 2012. He started his career with the Roanoke City Sheriff’s Office in 2000 and was promoted to the rank of Master Deputy prior to leaving the agency in 2012. Captain Amos also worked part time with the US Marshal Service as a special deputy marshal while working for Roanoke City. Captain Amos currently serves as the Captain of the Corrections, Court Services, and Civil Process Divisions.    As part of his Law Enforcement career, he has been an instructor in multiple disciplines and is has been instrumental in developing new Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services state training objectives for new Law Enforcement Officers.  He has successfully completed the Leadership Trilogy through the FBI-LEEDA program in 2022.

Director Peggy Foley

E-911 Communications Center Division

Director Peggy Foley has served with the Office of the Sheriff since September 2018. Prior to this position, she served in several roles within the Franklin County Information Technology Department since 2006. She currently serves as the 911 Director of the Communications Center Division for the Office of the Sheriff and holds responsibility for the strategic direction, vision, growth, and performance of the 911 Communications Center. Director Foley holds a master’s degree from Liberty University in Technology Management, Grant Certification from Fort Hays State University, Registered Public Safety Leader (RPL) Certification from APCO International, and various dispatch training. She has successfully completed the Leadership Trilogy through the FBI-LEEDA program in 2022.
